Peanut Power

ImageHow much energy is in a single peanut? Use the energy to head water!

Just about everything has potential energy stored in it. The problem is releasing that energy to be able to do some work.

A tiny peanut contains stored chemical energy. When we eat them, the stored energy is converted by our bodies so we can do work. We can also use the energy in a peanut to heat a container of water.

Make a Volcano Model

Learning about volcanoes is more fun when you actually make a model that simulates volcanic eruption.Image

Material and instructions
A volcano model project can be completed and tested in one or two days. You have a variety of choices for the material and everything that you need can be found at home or purchased locally. You will make a basic model of a volcano, which will have the ability to erupt just like a real volcano. There are several combinations of chemicals that can cause a violent reaction to demonstrate the volcanic eruption in this project. The volcano itself can be made of many things. Some examples are clay, aluminum foil, newspaper or even cardboard. The display should be accompanied by a report.

Details of this project
More details of this project is available in the members section of ScienceProject.com web site. Since research on this subject has a long history, you might also be able to find good books about it in your local library or find some information on the internet.
